Mother comes with goons to film set; how Malayalees favourite actor saved prominent actress

In his new video, he talks about Cochin Haneefa, who played villain roles and later gave Malayalees different moments of humour. 'He once turned Hydrose, a thug character from Kireedam, in his real life. The relationship of actress Lissy and Priyadarshan was at its peak then. There were small fights and disagreements between them. Most of Priyan's friends in Thiruvananthapuram were against the relationship. Me and Cochin Haneefa were on her side.

The shooting of Cochin Haneefa’s Tamil film was progressing in Ernakulam. The actors were Lissy, Rahman, Sivakumar and Radhika. Lissy’s mother, Eliyamma, came to Haneefa's set with a few goons to dissuade Lissy from her relationship and take her away. The situation was tense. Lissy was frightened. Finally, Haneefa turned a real goon then. The enraged Haneefa screamed. He said that if anyone touches her, they will be finished off. The people who came to dissuade her went back. Cochin Haneefa played a major role in the marriage of Lissy and Priyan.

When Haneefa’s liver disease was noticed first, he took it lightly. It was in its first stage. It could have been cured through treatment. However, he hid about his illness even from his own wife. Since he was a film star, many thought that he was an alcoholic. He had never consumed alcohol in his life. Moreover, he used to pray five times a day. He continued acting after hiding his illness, he said.
