THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance Minister K N Balagopal said the last complete budget of the second Pinarayi Vijayan government will bring in several projects for urban development in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode. The minister said in his budget speech said that Metro Rail project will be introduced in Thiruvananthapuram in 2025-26 and efforts will be made for a high-speed rail line. The finance minister clarified that Kerala has overcome the economic crisis and will improve further in the coming years.
Other development projects
1. Wayanad rehabilitation will be implemented in a time-bound manner.
2. Infrastructure development and development projects will be taken up together.
3. World Kerala centers will be started to promote the ties of expatriates with their homeland. Rs 5 crore has been allocated for this.
4. Central assistance will be sought to build a shipyard in South Kerala.
5. Construction of 150 bridges in Kerala will be completed soon.
6. New projects will be devised to bring foreign students to Kerala.
7. 1160 crores for LIFE project
8. Land will be ensured for investors.
9. 3061 crores for roads and bridges.
10. 700 crores more will be allocated for Karunya project.
11. 50 crores for health tourism.
