THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The budget has announced a special amount for places of worship for various projects, including the Sabarimala Master Plan. Rs 1033.62 crore has been set aside in the budget for the Sabarimala Master Plan. Of this, Rs 778.17 crore has been allocated for the development of Sannidhanam, Rs 207.48 crore for Pampa Manappuram, and Rs 47.97 crore for the development of the footpath from Pampa to Sannidhanam.
In addition, Rs 5 crore has been allocated in the budget for the construction of a pilgrim house and amenity centre for Kottarakkara Mahaganapathy Temple. Rs 2 crore has also been allocated for the construction of the main pavilion for the Aranmula boat race.
Rs 3 crore has also been allocated to develop pilgrimage tourism facilities in Kozhencherry. This tourism facility links the Aranmula boat race with the Maramon Convention (held on the banks of the Pampa) and other pilgrimage centres.
