KOLKATA: A government employee stabbed four colleagues after being denied leave, leaving two of them in critical condition. The accused is Amit Kumar Sarkar, a West Bengal government employee. Shocking visuals of Amit walking with a bloodstained knife have surfaced.

The incident took place at the technical department in New Town, Kolkata, where Amit, a native of North 24 Parganas, was employed. On Thursday morning, he entered the office and attacked Jayadeb Chakraborty, Shantanu Shah, Sarth Lath, and Sheikh Satabul. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.

According to reports, the attack was triggered by the denial of his leave request. However, police stated that the exact circumstances behind the leave denial remain unclear. Amit was arrested for further investigation. Authorities also suspect that he may have been suffering from mental health issues.
