'Received more than Rs one lakh for Pulimurugan' ; veteran actress Sethu Lakshmi about Mohanlal, Mammootty

Sethu Lakshmi is a known name among Malayalees for her appearance in films and television serials. She tackled the adversities of life and entered the world of cinema after getting recognized through her work in theatres. Sethu Lakshmi revealed receiving a lot of help from the film fraternity for her son's treatment. Sethu Lakshmi shared these things in an interview granted to a YouTube channel.

Sethu Lakshmi:

“I will be gripped with fear while acting alongside famous names in the industry. In ‘Rajadhiraja’, I got the role of a servant and had scenes with superstar Mammootty. Hearing my way of delivering dialogues, Mammootty at one stage had difficulty controlling his laughter. He went for another take. The actor also taught me the intricacies of giving a dialogue and it helped me a lot.

Mammootty loves me very much. I don’t know the reason. I address him as sir and not by his popular sobriquet Mammookka. Mammootty seldom engages in candid talks on film sets. But with me, he often makes jokes and we share laughter.

Mohanlal is another great name in the industry. He helped me a lot for my son’s treatment. To act in Mohanlal’s movie means we will return home with double the usual salary. I had a very brief role in ‘Pulimurugan’, but the production gave me more than Rs one lakh as remuneration. Aju Varghese also extended help to me many times. Those times, I would save all my money from movies for my son’s treatment. Those days are gone. Now I’m getting good money acting in movies.

For acting in a movie for a day, I get a remuneration of Rs 25,000."
