THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal responded to Shashi Tharoor’s controversial op-ed that put Congress in a spot. Venugopal requested not to drag further the controversy.

“Tharoor wrote the article based on the data obtained and he is willing to change his stand if provided with accurate data. There is no difference of opinion among Congress leaders. Small businesses are closing down in Kerala. The government is proceeding with artificial figures. We believe that Tharoor will change his stance. This should be the end of the controversy.” said K C Venugopal.

Shashi Tharoor’s op-ed in a leading English newspaper turned bane for Congress in recent days. Tharoor through his article adulated the diplomatic success of the Modi government and equally praised the Pinarayi government for making Kerala a conducive terrain for industries to thrive.
