THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Minister of State Suresh Gopi addressed the issue of burgeoning violence among youngsters in Kerala. Minister didn't rule out the influence of movies among youngsters but asked people to not put all blame on movies. Minister also called for unity to thwart such atrociouness.

Suresh Gopi:

“Children are not just the responsibility of parents. They are children of our nation, and we all are duty-bound to make them walk on the right path. Not just parents, every one of us should work on ways to help youths amble on the morally right path. I have been saying this for years.

Many are now blaming movies for the current surge in violence across the state. Back in the day, the movie Idukki Gold” received a fair share of blame for youngsters falling for marijuana. Those movies were inspired by real-life incidents. Those are entirely not fiction. Questions should be asked to the producers of the movie if they have been involved in glorifying the content.

I have also been part of movies that promoted violence. We are not doing it for fun. People should not just watch movies but must have cognition to understand it.”
