MUMBAI: After the resignation of NCP's Dhananjay Munde, the opposition has demanded the resignation of a BJP minister over the incident of misbehaving with a woman. Protests are being raised against minister Jaykumar Gore for allegedly sending nude pictures to a woman.
Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar was the first to come out against the minister. It is alleged that the minister onceagain threatened the woman who was harassed. Vadetivar also demanded that the minister be sacked. However, the remark was made without mentioning Jaikumar Gore's name. The MLA criticized that Gore, who apologized in court on the issue, is harassing the woman again after becoming a minister.
Following this, Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray MP Sanjay Raut also came out against the minister. 'The woman who was harassed is planning to go on a hunger strike in front of the Vidhan Bhavan. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis should examine his cabinet. There are corrupt ministers like Jaikumar Gore in the state cabinet. Evidence has come out and this issue will have to be raised in the assembly. Such ministers should be removed. These are ministers who molest women. Such ministers should be removed. These are the ministers who molest women. If these ministers remain in your cabinet, then how will Devendra Fadnavis speak against atrocities on women?” - Sanjay Raut asked.
Meanwhile, Minister Jaikumar Gore said that the allegations are being made in an incident where the court acquitted him and that a defamation case will be filed against the accusers. 'The case was filed in 2017. It went to trial. The court acquitted me in 2019. We live in a democratic country. The issue that the court ruled on six years ago is heating up again. Political leaders should exercise restraint. A rights violation resolution will be brought against those making the allegations. A defamation case will be filed against them,' the minister clarified.
