Man, daughter killed, three sustain injuries in accident in Thrissur

THRISSUR: Two people were killed when their car in which they were travelling rammed into a tree in Koratty. The dead are Jaimon (46) of Kothamangalam and his daughter Joyanna (11). Jaimon’s wife Manju (38), son Joyal (13) and a relative sustained injuries in the accident. The condition of two is stated to be serious.

The accident happened Friday morning at 5.30. The car carrying a five-member team was on their way to attend a prayer meet. The front portion of the car has been completely damaged. Jaimon was on the driver’s seat.

The Koratty police reached the spot within eight minutes of the accident and called an ambulance. Jaimon and Joyanna, who were in the front seat, were pulled out by cutting open the car. Although the five were immediately taken to the hospital, the lives of two could not be saved. The initial conclusion is that Jaimon may have fallen asleep.
