Felt unwell while cleaning well; worker and rescuer dies in Erumeli

ERUMELI: A worker who fell ill while cleaning a well and the person who went to rescue him died. The deceased are Aneesh, a native of Koovappally, and Biju, an auto driver from Erumeli. The initial conclusion is that both died of suffocation. The well was 35 feet deep.

The accident took place in Erumeli town this afternoon. Aneesh had gone down to clean the well. However, while cleaning the well, Aneesh fell ill due to lack of oxygen and collapsed. Biju went down into the well to save him. However, Biju also died of suffocation. The bodies of both were later recovered by the fire force unit that arrived from Kanjirappalli. The bodies have been shifted to the Erumeli Government Hospital.
