Kochi Corporation Mayor Adv. M Anil Kumar said that the only person who did not pressurise me on the Kochi Brahmapuram issue was the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The garbage issue had a huge psychological stress on my mind. The Chief Minister did not even make a negative remark about this during the crises. He did not stress me out. Even as others complained, the Chief Minister's response was actions were being done by those in charge. There is the government, but people are the ones who have to confront this; all such crises should be overcome by the communists, the Chief Minister said. Anil Kumar was speaking on Kaumudi TV's Straight Line Interview programme.

'I carried forward the belief that I had done nothing wrong. Brahmapuram became a lesson in many things in my life. The collective work of Collector NSK Umesh, the Revenue Department, and the Fire Force, among others, helped in finding a solution to the waterlogging crisis in Kochi.

Kochi is a place where all new things come to the fore. Airports and seaports are examples of this. Such a city is rare. The police have their own limitations. I don't think there is an underworld in Kochi. Kochi is where nightlife first came. If you go to control them after 10 pm, it will be negative. In the past, if the police looked at them, the people sitting in a group would disperse. Today, if the police went there and asked, they would ask back, "Are we breaking the law by sitting here?" M Anil Kumar clarified.
