Kidnapping of female students: Lawyer Ajith Kumar arrested

NAGARCOIL: Police have arrested a lawyer who kidnapped and raped two female students in Thuckalay. Ajith Kumar of the Padmanabhapuram court, who kidnapped female students residents of Thuckalay, Moolachal, Vadasserivila, has been arrested. The Thuckalay police received a complaint on the night of the 13th March that the female students, aged 14 and 12, were missing. The accused was arrested while two special teams led by District Police Chief Stalin were conducting an investigation. The accused was identified on the basis of CCTV footage. The police arrested him from Tengashi and rescued the female students. The arrest was recorded under the POCSO Act and the court remanded him. The police said that more information can be known only if the accused is taken into custody and questioned.
