50 per cent discount on brandy from BEVCO; Heydays for 'drinkers' in Kerala

Liquor is being sold at half price as part of a stock clearance. A 50 per cent discount has been applied to the price of brandy. This is not a scam; the sales are being done through Beverages Corporation outlets. Blue Ocean Beverages is selling some brands at reduced prices as part of its plan to phase out sales. Some brands of Brandy, which was previously sold for Rs 1,310, are now being sold for Rs 650. Meanwhile, the sale at a reduced price will not affect the government or the Beverages Corporation in any way. Another important point is that there will be no reduction in government taxes or the commission received by Bevco.

The company will bear the entire responsibility for the price reduction. While implementing the company's decision to no longer sell certain brands in the market, arrangements have been made to not incur losses for the government.
