NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will distribute kits to 32 lakh poor Muslims across the country in connection with Ramadan.The distribution will be carried out under the leadership of the BJP’s Minority Morcha as part of the 'Saugat-e-Modi' campaign. The BJP's move comes ahead of the Bihar elections scheduled for the end of this year. The campaign was launched in Nizamuddin, Delhi, by BJP National President and Union Minister JP Nadda.
The kits, each valued at up to Rs 600, will contain essential items such as food, clothes, dates, dry fruits, and sugar. BJP workers will connect with 32,000 mosques to identify the 32 lakh poor Muslims and provide them with the kits. The Minority Morcha has also announced plans to participate in ceremonies such as Good Friday and Easter, with kits to be distributed during these events as well. Jamal Siddiqui, the National President of the Minority Morcha, confirmed that kits would be handed out on these religious occasions under the 'Saugat-e-Modi' program. Earlier, BJP workers had distributed cakes to Christian households during Christmas and other significant events.
