KOCHI: Yuva Morcha state general secretary K Ganesh demanded national agencies investigate the foreign ties of Prithviraj, the director and actor of the movie ‘Empuraan’. The Yuva Morcha leader expressed doubt over Prithviraj’s unholy nexus with a certain gang while stuck up during the shoot of ‘Aadujeevitham’ in Gulf countries.
“The idea propagated through this movie is dangerous and is anti-national to the core. Prithviraj is using the same tropes of whitewashing extremist ideas. Be it ‘Jana Gana Mana’, ‘Kuruthi’ and now ‘Empuraan’, the common factor is the vile anti-national narrative. It is reasonable to suspect that Prithviraj is spreading such anti-national ideas through his films, motivated by the ideas of terrorists including ISIS.” K Ganesh wrote on Facebook.
The controversy over ‘Empuraan’ is ongoing in Kerala. Many RSS BJP functionaries made scathing attacks for the movie's unabashed criticism of Sangh parivar and skewed depiction of Godhra violence.
