NEW DELHI: The price of cooking gas for commercial purposes has been reduced in the country. The price has been reduced by Rs 43.50 per cylinder. The price in Kochi is Rs 1769. Meantime, there is no change in the price of domestic cylinders.
The price of cooking gas for commercial purposes was increased last month. A 19-kg cylinder has been increased by Rs 6 in Kochi. With this, the price of a commercial cylinder in Kochi has increased by Rs 1812. Cooking gas prices are revised on the 1st and 15th of every month. Oil marketing companies revise prices every month, taking into account changes in international oil prices, tax norms, and supply-demand factors.
There was an increase in the price of commercial cylinders in other major cities in the country last month. In Chennai, the price increased by Rs 5.50 to Rs 1965. In Delhi, it increased from Rs 1797 to Rs 1803. Ahead of the union budget presentation on February 1, the price of commercial cooking gas cylinders in the country was reduced. The price of a 19-kg cylinder was reduced by Rs 7. Even then, the price of a cylinder for domestic use remained unchanged.
