THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The father of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer who died by suicide in Thiruvananthapuram has alleged that her colleague and friend, Sukanth Suresh, had sexually assaulted her. The family arrived in the city on Tuesday morning and submitted related hospital records to the Pettah police.
Earlier, the family had alleged that Sukant Suresh had a role in her suicide. “In addition to phone records, we have handed over evidence recovered from my daughter’s bag. The investigation, led by the Pettah Circle Inspector, is now proceeding diligently. While we were initially dissatisfied with the probe, we are currently satisfied with its progress. Sukanth fraudulently took approximately Rs 3.5 lakh from my daughter. A lookout notice has been issued to prevent him from fleeing the country. The police have concluded that his actions led to her death. Investigators are collecting further evidence and verifying its authenticity. However, no case has been officially registered against him yet,” the victim’s father said.
The family returned home later in the night. Meanwhile, the police conducted searches in Kochi and Malappuram to trace Sukanth but were unsuccessful. The investigation is now being extended beyond Kerala, with officials focusing on his relatives and acquaintances. Authorities are also reviewing financial transactions between the deceased officer and Sukanth.
The incident took place on March 24, when the woman allegedly died by suicide by jumping in front of a train between Pettah and Chackai.
