THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More details have emerged about the death of an IB officer at Thiruvananthapuram. The family handed over documents to the police, including details of the abortion she underwent last year. Meanwhile, the police have not yet registered a case against Sukanth, who is still at large. The police said they will have to question Sukanth to know his alleged role in abetment to suicide.
According to reports, the IB officer at Thiruvananthapuram Airport reached a city hospital last year, accompanied by her friend and went through abortion. The woman's family reported the matter to the police after checking bank records and finding documents showing payment made to the hospital. The police later confirmed this during an investigation.
According to her father, the IB officer was sexually assaulted by Sukanth Suresh. The family also presented the hospital records related to this to the Pettah police. In addition to the phone records, evidence from the daughter's bag has also been presented. The case is being investigated under the leadership of the Pettah CI.
It is alleged that Sukanth embezzled around Rs 3.5 lakh from the IB officer. The police have issued a lookout notice to prevent Sukanth from leaving the country. A rigorous search is ongoing in Kochi and Malappuram to find Sukanth. His relatives and friends are being questioned.
