KOCHI: Senior Congress leader Dr Sooranadu Rajasekharan passed away at a private hospital in Kochi. He was suffering from cancer for a long time. He was 76. He was a member of the KPCC political affairs committee and managing editor of Veekshanam. His body, which is kept in the hospital, will be taken to his home in Kollam at 11 am.
He was born on January 18 in 1949 at Sooranad in Kollam. The family informed that there will be no public viewing. His relatives said that he had directed not to keep his body in the morgue or for public homage. He will be laid to rest at 5 pm in his house premises at Chathannoor in Kollam.
Sooranadu Rajasekharan started his political career as a KSU activist at D B College, Sasthamkotta in Kollam. He then held the posts of KSU state office bearer, Kollam DCC President, and KPCC general secretary.
He had contested for the Lok Sabha and assembly once. He had served as the KPCC Media Wing Chairman and Kerala Sports Council President.
He leaves behind his wife, Udaya Rajasekharan, and children Lakshmi, Nishant Menon, Arun Ganesh, and Devi.
