Tamil Nadu native Thulasi reaches Kochi with hybrid cannabis worth Rs 35 lakhs; airport authorities catch her red-handed

KOCHI: A woman who tried to smuggle hybrid cannabis through Nedumbassery airport has been arrested. A woman named Thulasi, a native of Tamil Nadu, has been arrested by the airport authorities. The authorities said that she is under custody. Confidential information was received that the passenger arriving from Bangkok, Thailand, was carrying hybrid cannabis worth Rs 35 lakh.

When the authorities checked Thulasi's bag, they found 1.190 kilograms of hybrid cannabis. The woman arrived in Nedumbassery from Bangkok on a Thai Airways flight. The authorities said that the hybrid cannabis caught from Thulasi would be worth about Rs 35 lakh in the market. The woman in custody is being questioned in detail.

The authorities are trying to find out from the woman who sent the drug and where she tried to deliver it. Inspection has been intensified for a few weeks with the widespread drug trafficking in the state of Kerala. Decision has been made to intensify the drug hunt in the state in the coming days with the coordination of various departments.

This issue was discussed in a high-level meeting called by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan last week. When the Chief Minister met the media after the meeting, he said that the state is at war against the spread of drugs.
