One dead, several injured after KSRTC bus plunges into gorge near Kothamangalam

IDUKKI: A girl died tragically after a KSRTC bus fell into a deep gorge in Neriamangalam near Kothamangalam on Tuesday. The accident occurred in the Maniyampara area. According to locals, the victim is a girl between the age of 15 and 18, who was found trapped under the bus.

Around 25 people were injured. The accident took place within the limits of Oonnukal police station. The bus heading from Kattappana to Ernakulam met with the tragic accident today. The bus fell 20 feet into the gorge. The condition of the others are not reported to be serious.

It is reported that the bus first hit a divider, lost control and overturned. The girl, trapped under the bus, was found when the bus was lifted using a crane.
