THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: N Raghuram (79), a frequent presence in every cultural event in the capital city, passed away on Tuesday. The final rites were held on Wednesday. Raghuram, fondly called ‘Pass Potty’ among his close circle, was a resident of TC 80/541 (old-37/479) Bharadwaj Vilas, West Fort.

Raghuram was honoured at the G. Devarajan-P. Jayachandran Memorial Festival organised at Bharat Bhavan by the G. Devarajan Memorial Trust and the Devaragapuram G. Devarajan Music Academy a month back. Sadly, he collapsed at the same event and was undergoing treatment for about a month. He was an administrative officer at the Vattiyoorkavu VSSC.

Raghuram frequented music events and maintained close ties with celebrities in the music industry. He always made sure to bring information about the city's cultural events to the audience. He was known in his circle of friends as "Pass Potty" because he used his extensive friendships to give everyone entrance passes to events.

Raghuram was an unofficial ambassador for the arts and cultural scene in the capital city. He collapsed at the Vazhuthacaud Bharat Bhavan venue while being honoured by eminent singer Dr. K. Omanakutty, M. Jayachandran, and Pramod Payyannur.

Raghuram’s family

Wife: Late Kalavathi Ammal. Children: Ratnavathi (Provident Fund, Ernakulam), Girish (The Hindu, Thiruvananthapuram). Daughter-in-law: Preethi A.
