KOTTAYAM: There is a turning point in the sexual abuse complaint filed against a teacher after years. After seven years, the woman withdrew the complaint, revealing that the complaint she had filed was false. The woman withdrew the case after approaching the court. A student from Ernakulam filed a complaint in 2017 against C D Jomon of Ayamkudy Madhuraveli, who ran a paramedical firm at Kuruppanthara in Kottayam.

The complaint was that the teacher abused her while taking her for training. Jomon was later arrested by the police and his institution was closed. This was followed by a seven-year-long legal battle. In the meantime, Jomon did many jobs to look after his family. Jomon revealed that he had even thought about suicide. The complainant only recently came to know about Jomon's miserable life.

She then went to Jomon's hometown with her husband and revealed that he was innocent and that she had filed the complaint at the instigation of some. During a service at the local church, the woman publicly apologized to Jomon and his family. Jomon was later released after appearing in court and giving his statement. Jomon said he was happy to be proven innocent after years of neglect and humiliation.
