AG's officer grows cannabis on terrace in Thiruvananthapuram, arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An official of the Accounts General's Office was arrested for growing cannabis on the terrace of his house in Thiruvananthapuram. Assistant Audit Officer Jithin, also a gazetted officer, was arrested for cultivating ganja on the terrace of his rented house in Kamaleshwaram.

Excise officials said that the people living with him are also officers of the Accounts General Office.

The excise officials conducted the inspection based on a tip-off that cannabis was being grown on the terrace of a house in Kamleshwaram. Jithin confessed to police that the other three people in the house had no role in the cannabis business.
