"Mix water before drinking": Video of government school teacher encouraging students to drink alcohol viral

BHOPAL: A teacher at a government school has been suspended for trying to serve alcohol to students. The incident took place in Khirhani village under Barwara block in Madhya Pradesh's Katni district. Lal Naveen Pratap Singh, a teacher at a government primary school in Khirhani village, has been suspended. The action was taken after the video went viral on social media.

The video went viral on social media the other day. The teacher can be seen sitting on the floor and drinking alcohol with the students in front of him. He pours alcohol into the cups. The teacher is heard telling the boys to add water before drinking. The students then consume the alcohol. The video shows the teacher watching them drink.

The video quickly went viral on social media and drew sharp criticism. Officials said that District Collector Dilip Kumar Yadav, who noticed the video, had directed District Education Officer OP Singh to take action against the teacher.

Lal Naveen Pratap Singh was immediately suspended under the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules on charges of misconduct, encouraging children to drink alcohol and defaming the reputation of a teacher, the official said. The authorities also said that a detailed investigation will be conducted into the teacher.
