THRISSUR: Jain Kurian, a native of Minalur, Vadakkanchery, who was injured and hospitalized after being trapped in a Russian mercenary camp, is being tried to be transferred back to a military camp. Jain told Kerala Kaumudi that he suspects that the attempt is to renew his contract with the Russian army even though his contract has expired. All the Russians who were injured and hospitalized in a military hospital were sent home on a month's leave. However, it has been announced that Jain, an Indian, will be returned to the military camp by Monday.
Jain Kurian and his family approached the Indian Embassy but received no information about his return home. Jain was admitted to the military hospital on January 6 after he sustained an abdominal injury and internal bleeding. He underwent three surgeries. Jain is also worried that he will not be able to contact his family if he is taken to a military base.
Jain Kurian is trying to bring the matter to the attention of the national media by filming a video in English describing his plight. Jain's relative, Binil Babu, a native of Kuttanellur, who had joined the Russian mercenary army, was killed in a military attack by Ukraine. Binil's body could not be brought back to India.
