NEW DELHI: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has signalled a strong response to the terrorist attack that targeted civilians in Pahalgam yesterday. He stated that those responsible for the Pahalgam attack would face a loud and clear retaliation soon.
Expressing solidarity with the families of the victims, Singh said, “Cowardly terrorists specifically targeted people from a particular religion in Pahalgam yesterday. Innocent lives were lost in this heinous act. I assure every citizen of the country that the government will take necessary action against this. The accused will see a loud and clear response”
He added that not only the perpetrators, but also those who supported or orchestrated the attack from behind the scenes, would be identified and dealt with sternly. Singh emphasised that India’s fight against terrorism will continue with unwavering determination.
With Pakistan’s involvement in the attack becoming increasingly evident, India is reportedly preparing a strong response. Sources from the central government suggest that India may sever diplomatic ties with Pakistan. Reports indicate that the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital, could be shut down. There is also speculation that the Indus Waters Treaty might be annulled.
