Fierce encounter in Kulgam; reports that top commander of 'The Resistance Front' cornered by Indian forces

NEW DELHI: Encounter between security forces and terrorists in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The military operation is being led jointly by the Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police following information that terrorists have established a base in the area. A fierce encounter is taking place in Thangmarg in Kulmarg

The encounter began this evening. The army has reportedly cornered a top commander of The Resistance Front. It is also reported that more than one terrorist is trapped in the area. More troops have been deployed in the area. Earlier, the army had killed two terrorists who tried to infiltrate into Baramulla.

Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, a massive search operation is underway in Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of the army for the terrorists. The encounter is underway between terrorists and security forces in Kulgam within a day of terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
