The recurring incidents prove that the film industry is becoming one of the biggest markets for drug mafias. Whether a person succeeds or fails in the film industry, he cannot do without drugs, that too chemical drugs. Apart from creating serious health problems for those who use it, this has also taken a toll on the film industry itself, a business worth crores. In the old days, people in the film industry did not use any drugs during work. The producers of those days were valued and respected. They did not allow any immoral tendencies while working. The directors of those days also took strict stances on these matters.

Alcohol was the main intoxicant in the old days. At least a handful of artists who could be described as unique talents have faded away prematurely due to its excessive use. Times have changed. The film industry and the amount of money invested in it have changed. There is no other art form that offers as much glamour and money as cinema. Therefore, even those who survive in this field these days have to experience excessive pressure and uncertainty. Cinema itself is a mystical field. Young people who achieve success in this field are launched into a luxurious life very quickly. Whether they slip into drug use in such situations, where they themselves are not sure whether it is reality or a dream, is a matter that needs to be studied in detail.

The new generation in cinema is second to none in terms of talent and ability. However, the fact that a small section of them are addicted to drugs and cannabis, etc., and due to this, behave rudely towards their colleagues on location, etc., is constantly in the news, which is creating a bad image even for those in the film industry who do not use any of these intoxicants. The other day, two young directors were caught with hybrid cannabis. Later, a prominent rapper and singer and his team were caught in a similar case. A few days before that, it was big news that an actor jumped down from the top floor of a hotel when the excise team came to inspect him. These incidents prove that drug use has deeply affected the Malayalam film industry.

Cinema and the lifestyle of film celebrities largely encourage youngsters to imitate them. The collective of film industry elders and organization leaders can intervene more effectively than government agencies to stop these tendencies. The main reason for this kind of debauchery is that many film industry associations do not take it seriously even when complaints are received about indecent behaviour on the set while under the influence of drugs. This must change. It is not only the film industry that is under the grip of drug addiction. College campuses, professional groups including doctors, among foreign workers.... Drug addiction has taken hold in many areas. Studies show that in some areas of Western countries, including the United States, where the use of cannabis has been legalized to a limited extent, the use of deadly chemical drugs has decreased. It is essential to prevent the spread of drug addiction by any means possible.
