NEW DELHI: Opposition parties declared full support to the Central Government in the all-party meeting called to brief on Operation Sindoor. Rahul Gandhi demanded that the safety of people living near the border be ensured and a special session of Parliament be convened. “We stand with the Indian Army,” said Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge after the meeting.
“We salute the soldiers. We listened to everything the Centre had to say. We had demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally attend the meeting and give explanations. Had that happened, it would have been beneficial for everyone. We are not criticising the Prime Minister for not attending now. This is a time of crisis,” he added.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh briefed the meeting. He requested that questions related to sensitive defence matters not be raised. Union Ministers Amit Shah, Kiren Rijiju, S. Jaishankar, J.P. Nadda, Nirmala Sitharaman, Samajwadi Party’s Ram Gopal Yadav, and CPM Rajya Sabha leader John Brittas were among those who participated.
"There is a flood of fake news. One must not fall for misinformation from within and outside the country. Only credible information should be trusted."

"The Resistance Front, which carried out the terror attack, must be exposed at the international level. The U.S. should be urged to designate it as a terrorist organisation."
