LAHORE: Pakistan and India agreed to a ceasefire this evening. The decision came after talks between the two countries. Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had stated that the Pakistani DGMO had contacted the Indian DGMO over the phone. Former Pakistani Air Marshal Masood Akhtar had earlier responded in an interview given to Dawn TV that going to war against India would be detrimental to Pakistan. Masood Akhtar's words were while admitting that Pakistan's military strength is weak in front of India.
"India has an Army of 16 lakh, ours is just six lakh. No amount of ‘ghazwa’ (battle) will save us. Our leadership’s job is to look into the future. The scenes are worrisome. We have no answer to it. And the situation is worsening. De-escalation won’t happen till America puts pressure. We really have to think what we have to do, else the situation will further worsen for us," Masood pointed out.
Meanwhile, Commodore Raghu R Nair, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sofiya Qureshi stated in a press conference that Pakistan has understood what India's military strength is. Pakistani claims, including that an Indian fighter jet was shot down, are just empty, and India has caused huge damage in Pakistan, military officials said. India also denied the claim that Sirsa, Jammu, Pathankot, Bathinda and Naliya air bases were damaged.
