HYDERABAD: Namrata Chigurupati (34), a female doctor and CEO of a private hospital, is reportedly a drug addict. Namrata was caught with the narcotic drug cocaine the other day. National media reports say that the Anti-Narcotics Bureau officials in Telangana have confirmed that the female doctor had used cocaine.
The doctor was caught with a dealer named Balakrishna while buying drugs. Namrata had bought drugs from a Mumbai native named Vansh Dhakkar. After placing the order through WhatsApp, she paid Rs 5 lakh as the price of the drugs. The money was transferred through online payment. The investigation team says that Namrata used cocaine at least ten times every day.
Due to drug use, she used to wake up every two hours during sleep. Investigators said that she also used sleeping pills due to this. For the past few days, Narcotics Bureau officials and the police had been monitoring the female doctor. Dr Namrata had raised her voice and behaved with the police who came to her house. The police team caught her with 53 grams of cocaine during a drug deal.
Balakrishna, a middleman who had arrived from Mumbai with cocaine, was handing it over to the doctor when the police team surrounded the two. They were doing the deal in the doctor's Mini Cooper car. Dr Namrata is the CEO of 'Omega Hospitals', a leading hospital chain based in Hyderabad. She is the daughter of Omega Hospitals founder and Dr. Ch Mohana Vamsy.
She was also a radiologist at Omega Hospital, which focuses on cancer treatment. National media reports indicate that Dr. Namrata, a mother of two, is divorced. Reports suggest that Namrata started using drugs during her student days.
