859 pilgrims to depart for Hajj pilgrimage tomorrow

MALAPPURAM: A total of 859 pilgrims are set to embark on the Hajj pilgrimage on Wednesday via five flights arranged by the State Hajj Committee. The departures include three flights from Kozhikode and two from Kannur.

From Kozhikode, the first flight will take off at 12:40 AM, carrying 89 men and 84 women. A second flight at 7:40 AM will transport 173 women, marking the conclusion of women-only services from Karipur. The third flight, scheduled for 4:05 PM, will carry 76 men and 97 women.

Meanwhile, Kannur will see two flights on the same day. The early morning service at 4:00 AM will accommodate 45 men and 126 women, while the evening flight at 7:25 PM will carry 31 men and 138 women.

So far, 2,918 pilgrims, including 760 men and 2,158 women, have reached the holy city of Mecca in 17 flights from the state.

The journey from the Kochi embarkation point will begin on the 16th. The first flight is scheduled for 5:55 PM. Saudi Airlines has scheduled 21 flights from Kochi, each with a capacity of 289 passengers.
