DUBAI: BDJS State President Thushar Vellappally on Sunday said that he does not hold any grudge against entrepreneur Nazil Abdullah. During a press conference in UAE, Thushar also added that the Ajman court has quashed criminal proceedings against him citing lack of evidence. He also thanked everyone who stood beside him during his difficult times.

Thushar said that the court will provide further details regarding the case tomorrow. According to him, the court procedures took so long as he required time to present the necessary documents in the court. He also took the opportunity to thank CM Pinarayi Vijayan and industrialist Yusuff Ali for their timely intervention and added that he would be back in Kerala for the Onam celebrations.

Meanwhile, he also pointed out that some have been trying to make the case a communal issue. He was arrested in UAE after a cheque of 10 million UAE Dirhams (approximately ₹19.52 crore) he had given to one of his business partners 10 years ago bounced. Following this, Thushar had come out pointing that his signature on the cheque was a forged one. He also produced an audio clip which proved that Nazil had obtained the cheque from a friend in order to trap him and obtain money by blackmailing his father Vellapally Natesan
