THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Kaumudi paid tribute to Vellappally Natesan, who bravely faced the waves of crises and the storm of opposition like a captain, and led the SNDP Yogam and the SN Trust with a sense of direction for three decades.
This evening, ministers, public representatives and prominent figures from various walks of life gathered at the Hotel O by Tamara Auditorium to pay their respects to him before a grand audience. Everyone praised his far-sighted work as the General Secretary of the SNDP Yogam and as the Secretary of the SN Trust. Ministers and other speakers recalled his words as the General Secretary of the Yogam, the decisions he took, the impact and change he made in the society and the administration. Minister VN Vasavan inaugurated the felicitation ceremony. Minister Vasavan said that Vellappally's great contribution to the SNDP Yogam as the General Secretary was to tie up the scattered community and make it look like a book. He honoured Vellappally with a 'Ponnadai'.
Kerala Kaumudi Chief Editor Deepu Ravi presided over the function. Sree Narayana Dharmasangham Trust General Secretary Swami Shubhangananda delivered the congratulatory speech. Ministers V Sivankutty, MB Rajesh and P Prasad also presented Ponnadai to Vellappally. Minister Saji Cherian also came to congratulate the General Secretary. MLAs V Joy, VK Prashanth, Antony Raju, former Mizoram Governor and former BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan and others delivered congratulatory speeches. Chief Editor Deepu Ravi presented Kerala Kaumudi's gift to Vellappally. Office bearers of various organisations also presented gifts.
In his reply speech, Vellappally Natesan pointed out that Kerala Kaumudi is an organisation that has always been a support and shade to him. Kerala Kaumudi Thiruvananthapuram Unit Chief S Vikraman welcomed the gathering, and Chief Manager S Vimalkumar gave the vote of thanks.
