Man hangs himself after setting house on fire

KOCHI: A middle-aged man hanged himself after setting his house on fire. The incident took place in Thrippunithura. The deceased has been identified as Eroor Perikkad native Prakashan. Prakashan reportedly poured petrol in the bedroom and set it on fire before hanging himself behind the house.

The incident took place at around 5 am today. Prakashan's son Karun, who was in the room at the time, managed to escape by opening the door. The Thrippunithura police have registered a case into the incident. Prakashan and his family were living in the house on rent.
