DEHRADUN: Dehradun police have arrested 17 candidates for cheating in the CBSE Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS)/Lab Attendant examination using electronic Bluetooth devices. They were caught during a search operation at the examination centres Social Baluni Public School and Doon International School, following a tip-off.
Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh said that Bluetooth devices were found hidden in shoes, bags and other items. A total of 17 electronic gadgets were recovered from them. Three FIRs have been registered in connection with the incident at Kotwali Patel Nagar and Dalanwala police stations. Meanwhile, the police said that an investigation is underway to find out how the candidates got the Bluetooth devices and who was behind it.
The arrested candidates are being questioned by the local police and the Special Operations Group (SOG). A case has been registered against the candidates under sections 3, 4, 10 and 11 of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, as well as sections 318(4) and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
