KOCHI: Kerala State Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited (KSDP) has opened a retail shop with up to 70 percent discount on medicines. It is called 'Medimart'. The first outlet was opened on April 8 at the headquarters building in Kalavoor, Alappuzha. Medicines worth Rs 25 lakh were sold in one and a half months.
KSDP's own medicines are discounted by up to 70 percent. Other companies' medicines are discounted by up to 15 percent. Paracetamol, metformin, amlodipine, azithromycin, and amoxicillin are discounted by 70 percent.
The operation is modeled after Neethi Medical Stores. Shops will soon open in Kottayam, Vaikom, and Karunagappally. Retail shops will also be opened in medical colleges and district hospitals. Surgical equipment will be sold at reduced prices.
Home Delivery

Oncology Pharma Park
The next goal of KSDP is the Oncology Pharma Park, which produces cancer drugs. The park will be built in a three-story building at a cost of Rs. 231 crore. In addition to KSDP, other expert entrepreneurs will also be given an opportunity to produce medicines here.
