KOCHI: The police brought the woman, accused of killing her three-and-a-half-year-old daughter by throwing her into the Moozhikkulam Bridge, to collect evidence. She told police that she threw her daughter into the river here before reaching the mid of the bridge. In a fit of rage, the locals asked the police to show the face of the accused.

The locals behaved very emotionally with the police. After collecting evidence, the police left with her to the station. The evidence collection lasted only ten minutes. About a hundred people, including locals who participated in the rescue operations for the child, gathered in the area.

The woman told police that she was not aware of the brutal rape of her daughter. She told police that she was disturbed by the excessive interest shown by her husband's family towards the child.

She felt that her husband's family was isolating her from her own child. She heard that her husband was planning to remarry. She was concerned on how the child would live if she was isolated. It is reported that the woman told police that she dreamt her daughter living with her stepmother and killed her because she was worried about her future.
