THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan released the progress report of the second Pinarayi government, which he claimed has achieved 100% marks in development. He declared that the government is moving forward with all-inclusive development and social justice. The 326-page report outlines the progress in implementing the 900 promises made in the election manifesto.

An AI-based platform was launched under the leadership of the Digital University. A deal was signed with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to provide information on 7 lakh (700,000) job opportunities. Through the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission, 1.29 lakh (129,000) people secured employment. Significant strides were made in the IT sector, with IT exports rising from Rs 8,003 crore to Rs 24,793 crore. Additionally, 3,833 recruitments were facilitated through NORKA Roots to various countries.

More than 3.5 lakh (350,000) enterprises were started under the "Year of Enterprises" project, attracting investments exceeding Rs 22,500 crore and generating over 7.5 lakh (750,000) job opportunities. Since this government assumed office, road and bridge projects worth Rs 17,668.66 crore have been granted financial approval, and 11,665.95 kilometres of roads have been upgraded to BM & BC standards.

Within a year, another one lakh land titles (pattayams) will be distributed. There has also been notable progress in the LIFE Mission housing project—of the 5,79,568 houses sanctioned, 4,52,156 have been completed. The government's goal is to steadily improve the standard of living of the people.

"Everything has become alright"

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan remarked that it was the continuity of governance that made such development possible in the state. He pointed out that the slogan “LDF will come, everything will be alright” from the 2016 election has proven to be meaningful.

KIIFB a superhit

Tremendous progress has been made in creating infrastructure, with KIIFB (Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board) playing a crucial role. KIIFB aims to complete projects worth Rs 12,500 crore by December. With that, projects worth Rs 32,000 crore are expected to be completed through KIIFB. So far, KIIFB has approved 1,156 projects worth over Rs 88,070 crore, of which projects worth Rs 21,642.49 crore are revenue-generating. KIIFB has already received repayments exceeding Rs 200 crore from these revenue-generating projects.
