THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC President Sunny Joseph MLA denounced the Forest Minister’s claims of conspiracy in the death of a youngster electrocuted to death in Nilambur.
SUNNY JOSEPH:
"Isn't Nilambur part of Malappuram district? So if such an incident happens in Nilambur, wouldn't there naturally be protests? The minister should retract his statements and apologize. The CPM state secretary cannot run away from those comments made by the forest minister. The tragic death of a youngster in Nilambur has been politicized by the forest minister. It is a tactic to divert attention from the issue and save face. The indifference of the Forest Department has led to protests all over Kerala. The Forest Minister is sleeping and burying his head in the ground like an ostrich.
People are being forced to install electric fences because wild animals are coming from the forest to their homes. I have come to understand that the person who has just been arrested is an active worker of the CPM.
Wild animal nuisance is now spreading to more populated areas of the city."
