MALAPPURAM: The death of Class 10 student Ananthu Vijay, who was fatally electrocuted by a live fence in Nilambur, is tragic and deeply painful, said Kerala’s Minister for General Education, V. Sivankutty. He confirmed that the accused, Bineesh, has already been taken into police custody in connection with the case.

Expressing concern over the political response to the tragedy, the minister criticised the opposition for allegedly attempting to exploit the incident for political advantage. He called such actions “deeply shocking.”

“At this time, our focus should be on standing with the bereaved family,” the minister stated. He added that any suspicion of conspiracy behind the incident will be thoroughly investigated by the investigation agencies, and the truth will come to light soon. Sivankutty also remarked that the public will be able to discern the motives of those trying to politicise the tragedy.
