'Do not make any statements that could put the party in difficult position'; Congress high command issues warning to Shashi Tharoor

NEW DELHI: The Congress high command has issued a stern warning to Shashi Tharoor MP, advising him not to make statements that could put the party in a difficult position. Although Tharoor has returned from his foreign tour aimed at explaining India's 'Operation Sindoor', the party high command has still not agreed to grant him a meeting. It is also reported that the central government is considering assigning Tharoor a key role in a committee being formed for communications with foreign countries. Some voices within the Congress party have also expressed support for Tharoor.

Meanwhile, Shashi Tharoor said that discussions with foreign nations regarding India's stance on the India-Pakistan conflict were highly successful. He asserted that India had successfully communicated its position to the global community and mentioned that he would address the controversies surrounding the Congress party when the time was right.

"I spoke as an Indian citizen. Pakistan’s agenda could not be implemented on the global stage. I haven’t had time yet to speak about domestic politics. I will respond to criticisms when the time is right. It was my duty to speak on behalf of India, and I have fulfilled it. I will submit the report I prepared to the Prime Minister. In all international meetings, India received strong support. No one mentioned any U.S. mediation in the India-Pakistan conflict. India had already made it clear that any provocation by Pakistan would be met with a response," Tharoor said.
