NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the meeting between Gurudev and Gandhiji in Sivagiri gives energy to the goals of a developed India and social unity. He was inaugurating the centenary celebrations of the Guru-Gandhiji meeting at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

Guru's philosophy of "One Caste, One Religion, One God for all men" is the foundation of India's civic morality. It is being expanded to the global level. The spirit of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The world is one family)' is associated with saints like Guru. Sree Narayana Guru, who proclaimed "Enlightenment through education, Strength through organization, Prosperity through industry", also laid the foundation for institutions to realize it. The Sharada Mutt he founded is a symbol of the upliftment and liberation of the backward classes. Works like Guru's ''Atmopadesa Satakam'' are a guide for any student of Advaita and spirituality.
