SHARJAH: The voice message sent by Kollam native Vipanchika Maniyan to her relative, before murdering her daughter and then committing suicide, surfaced. In the message, Vipanchika talked about her fallout with husband Nidheesh and how the estrangement widened after the birth of their daughter.

Vipanchika:

“Every hardship in life, I am facing it all alone. I look after my daughter and the household without getting any support from anyone. My daughter is staying in the house like a stray dog with no one to look after her. Nidheesh is a self-centred man who barely checks what is happening with his close ones. In the last year, he took my daughter out only four times, and that too only to convince relatives and neighbours that he still cares about his family.

However, the same man who often forgets his daughter makes sure not to miss a day out with his sister and her son. Moreover, the talk he had with me is too embarrassing to be made public.

I have never seen a man so greedy for money despite having enough of it. My family worked hard to marry me off, and here I am in such a predicament. Nidheesh lived with me for only seven months. His sister and mother tortured me terribly during my time with him.”

Vipanchika and her child were found dead in their flat in Al Nahda, Sharjah, on Tuesday afternoon. Vipanchika works in the HR department of a private company in Dubai. Her husband, Nidheesh, is an engineer in a private company in Dubai. It is alleged that Nidheesh used to torture her over dowry and started living separately as dissent grew between them. It is reported that Vipanchika told her maid that she would not live if Nidheesh were to move ahead with divorce. It is believed that a divorce notice reached her last week, after which Vipanchika was seen crestfallen.

The bodies are currently in the morgue of Sharjah Al Qasimi Hospital. However, Nidheesh has demanded that his daughter's body be cremated in Sharjah. Further steps will be taken only after a settlement is reached in this matter.
