Body of actress found nine months after death, smell had faded

KARACHI: The postmortem report of Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar Ali, who was found dead in her apartment, has emerged. It is reported that she died nine months ago, that is in October last year.

Karachi Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed, who conducted the postmortem, confirmed that the body was in a decomposed state. The actress’ last call was in October 2024. Moreover, the investigation team stated that the actress was last seen by her neighbors in September or October last year.

The electricity in her apartment was disconnected in October 2024 due to non-payment of bills. The only other apartment on the same floor had been vacant until February. By the time they returned, the smell had faded. The balcony door was left open.

The family initially refused to accept her body. However, her brother Naveed Asghar has arrived in Karachi to receive the body. Humaira had moved to Karachi from Lahore seven years ago. Police said she had been living away from her family and only visited her relatives occasionally. Humaira's body was found during an investigation conducted by the police after the landlord filed a complaint for non-payment of rent.
