The accident happened at around 5 pm yesterday. The woman and her two children were admitted to the Kochi Medical Center Hospital with serious injuries at around 9 pm last night. The car burst into flames when Elsy, a nurse at a private hospital, started the car to take her children out. Elsy's eldest daughter, ten-year-old Aleena and her mother Daisy also sustained injuries. Both are being treated at a private hospital in Palakkad. Locals rushed to the spot after hearing the explosion and took everyone to the hospital. It is suspected that a gas cylinder in the vehicle ignited and caused the explosion.
