CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu is implementing the semi-circular seating arrangement for children in classes, emulating the Kerala model. The Director of School Education has issued an order asking for steps to be taken to arrange U-shaped seating in all schools. It should be implemented immediately under the supervision of the District Education Officers.

The new reform is said to have been inspired by the Malayalam movie ‘Sthanarthi Sreekuttan’. The movie put forward the idea to end backbenchers in classrooms, and Kerala implemented it first.

👉Every student will be able to see the board and the teacher.

👉Teachers can easily observe students.

👉Enough space will be provided for devices such as tablets and laptops.
