Two killed in road accident on Kozhikode–Palakkad National Highway

PALAKKAD: Two people lost their lives after a KSRTC bus collided with an autorickshaw on the Kozhikode–Palakkad National Highway on Tuesday night. The deceased have been identified as Thrikallur natives Ayyappankutty and Azeez.

The collision occurred near Edakkal, close to Thachampara in Mannarkkad, Palakkad district, around 8:15 PM. According to reports, the KSRTC bus, which was heading towards Kozhikode, rammed into the autorickshaw, which was entering the pocket road from the highway.

The impact completely destroyed the autorickshaw. Though Azeez and Ayyappankutty were rushed to a private hospital in Mannarkkad, their lives could not be saved. Their bodies are currently kept at the Mannarkkad Taluk Hospital.
