KOTTAYAM: The police have filed charge sheet in Thiruvathukkal double murder case. The Kottayam West Police filed the charge sheet of 750 pages in the Kottayam Judicial Magistrate Court. Amit Urang of Assam is the lone accused in the case. The police have produced 67 witnesses and around 100 documents in the court. The charge sheet said revenge and personal enmity led to the murders.
T V Vijaya Kumar (64) of Thiruvathukkal Sreevalsam and his wife Dr Meera (60) were found dead in their house on April 22. The police arrested Amit Urang of Assam, who was a former employee of their house and company, from Thrissur.
While working in Vijaya Kumar's house, Amit had used his mobile phone for online money transactions and was jailed for five and a half months in this case. With this, his wife severed ties with him. The accused also suffered many personal losses.
Amit Urang then decided to take revenge. Police said that after being released from jail, he checked into a lodge in Kottayam on April 22 and then went to Vijaya Kumar’s house, killed him and his wife Meera.
